Wait — isn't this just a calendar?
Short answer: no. A calendar tells you what's next. Yearweaver shows you what the whole year is made of — and helps you change it.
Isn't this just Google Calendar?
Google Calendar is a scheduling tool — it answers 'am I free at 3pm Thursday?' Yearweaver is a shaping tool — it answers 'what is this year actually made of?' A calendar is built for the next two weeks. Yearweaver is built for all 52 of them, at once, on one canvas.
So I'd stop using my calendar?
No. Keep your calendar for meetings, reminders, and the daily grind. Use Yearweaver upstream of it — to decide which weeks hold a trip, which months you'll see your parents, which weekends stay open on purpose. The specific 10:30am invite still lives in Google.
Why can't I just zoom out in my existing calendar?
You can, and you've probably tried. A year view in a normal calendar is a grid of tiny squares optimized for 'what day is the 14th?' — not for seeing the shape of your year. Yearweaver lays five threads (trips, work, special days, connection, socializing) side by side so patterns become visible: the empty August, the pile-up in October, the friend you haven't seen since March.
How is this different from a project planner like Notion or Asana?
Project tools organize tasks around outcomes and deadlines. Yearweaver organizes your year around the life you want to have lived by December — trips taken, people seen, weekends guarded. There are no tasks, no assignees, no status. Just threads across time.
Do I need to fill in every day?
Please don't. Open space is the point. A year full of colored blocks is just a busy year. Yearweaver is designed to make the empty weeks visible so you protect them — or fill them with intention, not by accident.
How does the shared part work?
You invite the people you weave your year with — partner, family, close friends. Everyone sees the same canvas, changes appear live, and there's no group-chat archaeology to figure out when someone booked what. It replaces 'when are you free in June?' with a shared picture of June.
What about privacy?
Each canvas is private to the people you explicitly invite — nobody else can see it. You can keep separate canvases for different circles (family, close friends, a work team), so your in-laws don't see your work travel and your team doesn't see your anniversary. We don't sell or share your data, and we don't scan your events for advertising.
You only get one 2026.
The year will be spent either way. The only question is whether you chose how.
